Tiredness, cravings, and self-control.

I can’t lie, these last few days I have never been so grateful for my Power tools. I am so tired, craving sweet stuff, and counting down the days till the Christmas break.

There would have been a time when my self-sabotaging, intrusive thought patterns would have convinced me to turn off the alarm, eat the chocolate, and just hideaway. But luckily, I’ve undergone the process of cognitive reconstruction, and changed my self-sabotaging thought patterns to become supportive thought patterns. And because of this, I’ve gotten myself out of bed, stayed away from the chocolate and carried on.

Now don’t get me wrong, there are times when you need to rest, when chocolate is necessary, and a timeout is healthy, but I’ll never choose those things as emotional management. And I’ll never participate, if it triggers feelings of regret and disappointment. Only if it’s a healthy choice, made from a healthy place.

If you too, have a tendency to self-sabotage, and give in to intrusive thoughts of giving up, then you 100% would benefit from cognitive restriction.
