I firmly believe that permanent weight loss requires the ability to achieve mental and emotional freedom, when it comes to nutrition.
Diets will achieve short term success. BUT long term success requires the ability to eat intuitively (allowing your body to make food choices, and not your emotions).
But this is not a skill that you can just switch on, and severing emotional attachments to food is not just a simple process. So I made the decision (due to my training, and personal experience) to install a nutrition plan, as a stepping stone to intuitive eating. And this plan has been exclusively formulated to involve calorie tracking and nutrient focused goals, in a simple and really effective way.
Calorie tracking is a science based method of weight loss, and is an incredible weight loss tool as it teaches balance, portion control and mindfulness.
When you track calories you remove the habit of mindless eating, and over indulgence.
And when you have nutrient goals, you identify what your body needs over what your emotions dictate.
But let me be clear- I do not for one minute feel calorie counting FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE is essential, nor do I expect it of anyone that joins this journey.
But I do feel that along with the psychological tools included, it is an essential stepping stone towards the end goal, which is maintaining the weight losses achieved whilst intuitively eating for the rest of your life.
Having the body and mind you want, whilst living life on your own terms.
